Texas Summers

With weather in the three digits every day this past week, I think summer is here. Needless to say, it’s hot in Texas. Heat advisories are broadcasted daily and I’ve just resigned to the fact that we need to wear our swimsuits basically all day. I only can let the kids out for short periods of time with tons of sunscreen. My chihuahuas could turn to bacon bits in this weather if I’m not careful to keep them hydrated! I took the kiddos to a park a few times this week, only to find no other children there. I’m guessing the other mothers didn’t want to risk the heatwave. I may have to go evenings and early mornings for the next few weeks until the heat passes. I am sure that is probably what everyone else is doing. So far it hasn’t been to unbearable for me. The summer I got E and V it was record heat and I’ll never forget how much I worried about AC-ing the car before we put the babies in. I would do my hair only to have it completely uncurled three seconds after I walked outside. Pony tails end up being my hairdo of choice. Cotton dresses my outfit of choice. Large hats and sunscreen my accessories of choice. Swimming my activity of choice. And Bedford Snoball my food of choice.
