Sleeping Beauty’s Battle

With fingers crossed, I am declaring the war won. My Sleeping Beauty has resumed her title. Miss Vienna has always slept like a dream. From one day old, she slept eight to ten hours at a time. It was unbelievable. She’s rarely if ever cried and never woke up at night. Then about three weeks ago, I thought it was time for her to transition to a “big girl bed.” I’ll be honest, it was a mistake. A little too much, a little too early. That, and I brilliantly decided to transition her to big girl bed when she was very ill with strep throat. What was I thinking? Sometimes I wonder about myself. Needless to say, that’s when the war began. As illustrated by the photo, we had to revert to extreme measures to keep her sleeping where she should be sleeping. It wasn’t easy. For awhile, we had to sit on a chair in her room until she fell asleep just to keep her from leaving. But then last night, I tucked her in and she stayed. I left the room and swear I heard a heavenly choir break out in Hallelujah. I imagine there will still be a few more battles to win throughout the next couple weeks, but I think the outcome of the war is clear. I have so much advice for Super Nanny.
