Santa’s Breakfast – Loralee Lewis

Nobody can bring in Christmas cheer faster than the Saint in the big red suit! That’s why when we were planning our own Christmas celebration, we decided to turn it into a Santa’ Breakfast. Santa’s Breakfast is a morning celebration made just for kids! Invitations are post cards sent from Santa himself. The dress code is pajamas for everyone (parents included)! And the food – well, it’s breakfast! Here is a peek at our No Fuss Fabulous Santa’s Breakfast this past weekend. *Note: Apologies for some of the photos. All you moms understand. We were dashing around entertaining 17 toddlers who were hyped up on nothing but pure adrenaline waiting for Santa to come which come to find out doesn’t make the perfect photo session!

Using printable address labels and tiny premade bows, we turned our muffins into Christmas studmuffins. With “I believe!” and “Better not pout!” type phrases on our lables, we stuck the labels on toothpicks, added the mini bows (we found ours at Walmart in the craft secions for one dollar), and place them on all our mini muffins and doughnuts! Completely No Fuss Fabulous.

With everyone decked out in their pajamas, there is nothing like a big old fashioned breakfast! We were surprised by how crazy everyone went over our breakfast foods. The originals are still everyone’s favorite classics. Buttermilk pancakes, scrambeled eggs, bacon, sausage, and yogurt parfaits were are choices in addition to our mini muffins and doughnuts. Give everyone a chance at the grill. We learned that people love flipping pancakes and stirring the hot chocolate. There is just something about breakfast that brings everyone back to being a kid helping mom in the kitchen.

For favors, we took mini green paper bags and placed a label and premade bow on them. We filled each holiday favor sack with stacked ginger cookies previously featured. You can find our adorable ginger stacked cookies here. Taking a great line from a Christmas favorite our labels read, “Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus. He exists as certainly as love and generosity and devotion exist, and you know that they abound and give to your life its highest beauty and joy. Unfortunately not pictured (remember 17 toddlers were in attendance), we took spare red ribbon, laced two jingle bells on each strand, and tied them to make little jingle bell bracelets for each child and adult. Then right before Santa’s arrival we had a Christmas sing-a-long. The kids LOVED jingling their bells and singing with their parents Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, Santa Claus is Coming to Town, and (of course) Jingle Bells. Timing is crucial here. When the singing is at it’s height is when you want Santa Claus (and in our case, Mrs. Claus too) jingling through the door!
