The Wedding & The Flower Girl

We were delighted when our dear friend, Erica, asked Miss Vienna to be her flower girl at her Austin wedding this past weekend. The wedding was absolutely gorgeous. The bride & groom, the location, the rehersal dinner and the ceremony were all completely elegant and breathtaking.

The flower girl on the other hand needed a little coaxing.

Daddy talked the ceremony through with her.

And we practiced….

And practiced…

And practiced…

But when it came time for her walk down the aisle…

She just wasn’t ready. Her ring boy had gone down right before her with his mommy and she thought that was a pretty good gig. And so I carried the flower girl down the aisle throwing petals as we walked.

Luckily, it wasn’t a problem in the least and the ceremony was perfect. Erica was a bride from my dreams. She looked absolutely stunning and her (now) husband was a perfect gentleman. It was one of the most pefect weddings I have been to.

After the ceremony, the flower girl posed for photos and got into all sorts of fun mischief…

She let the boys chase her…

for a solid hour. (That’s my girl. Keep them on their toes.)

And then Ethan and her battled over who could play with the ribbons on the presents.

We are so proud.

After the festivities we stopped at Hey Cupcake!
Katie, my fabulous cousin, gave me the first head’s up about this little cupcake eatery on her blog, so when we passed it during the kids’ matching complete no-nap-sugared-up-day meltdowns – Lee & I agreed we had never had our ox more in the mire.

They were delicious and hit the spot.

The children slept the whole way home.
Thank goodness for friends, beautiful brides, love that lasts throughout the years, and cupcakes.

P.S. We do have two children. Ethan just refused all photos during this trip. 🙂
He was there. I promise.
