Glitter Gourds and a Fun Free Christmas Downloads

Have fun adding a bit of sparkle to your holiday table.  Last year we made a glittered pumpkin for the Thanksgiving centerpiece. This year we are taking long lasting dried gourds from last year’s garden and glittering them in colors that can move from the Thanksgiving table to the Christmas one.  Paint your dried gourd with craft paint and allow to dry.  Then quickly cover with a light layer of some glitter glue (or we have found good ole Elmer’s glue works nearly as well and is on hand).  Place the gourd over a clean piece of  paper to allow for gather and save spilled glitter later. Dust the wet glue with fine glitter like those from Martha Stewart’s glitter line.  Allow to dry. Shake lightly to dislodge any non-adhered glue. Pour left over glue back into glitter container.  Create a number of glitter gourds mixed in with silver or gold painted gourds. Think of fun color combinations like white, celedon, and cranberry which will transition through both holidays. Below is a great pic from Design Mom using silver and gold gourds:
