Adoption

Adoption Update!

After an emotional past few days in Detroit, we returned home to our beautiful children. Our adoption remains uncertain.

Lee and I were able to be by birthmother’s side throughout her very long and difficult labor. I was able to be in the delivery room with our birthmother when she brought this beautiful little Princess into the world. It was an incredibly beautiful and touching experience to watch my potential daughter being born. We fell in love with this birthmother’s spirit and the challenges she has conquered in her desire to place her daughter for adoption.

This beautiful Princess was born
October 18th 2009
6lbs. 14 ounces, 19.5 inches
After a few days, birthmother was uncertain of her ability to place baby in our arms. She was having second thoughts. We flew home. Yet, she now has called LDS Family Services and said she wants to sign the paperwork on Monday, but we are uncertain if that will happen.

If she does sign the paperwork and chooses our family to be her adoptive parents, there is a three week waiting period and a court hearing for the State of Michigan before we would bring her home to Texas.
We are trying to be realists while still being hopeful. We pray for this mother. It is so very difficult to put your child’s needs above your heart’s desires. Adoption is the most unselfish act a mother can do. This is why birthmothers of every kind are so honored in our home. Our prayers and thoughts are with this beautiful little girl and her mother. Our fingers are crossed and we are hoping for the best.
I will keep everyone updated! Thank you for your love and support!
