I held a <strong><em>Christmas Cookies with the Chicas<\/em> <\/strong>event last night. I invited friends from church and we just sat, talked, and ate homemade cookies! Only four ladies were able to attend due to the craziness of the season, but it was almost better that way because I was\u00a0able to take the time and really chat with my ladies. I gave these little pint sized cookie jars as favors.\u00a0 Give your girlfriends the gift of no fuss Christmas cookies. I made several changes to <a href=\"http:\/\/allrecipes.com\/Recipe\/Julias-Best-Ever-Chocolate-Chip-Cookies-In-A-Jar\/Detail.aspx\">Allrecipes.com Julia&#8217;s Best Ever Chocolate Chip Cookies In A Jar recipe <\/a>in order for it to fit a pint-sized mason jar, \u00a0include festive M&amp;Ms, and keep the dry ingredients separate from the chocolate chips. I like the pint-sized jars better because I think they are more appropriate size for a favor and they make only six to eight cookies which I feel is a good proportion for two to three people to share! Place flour and soda mixture in a clean\u00a0pint sized glass jar, and pack firmly. <em>*See NFF Tip below!<\/em> \u00a0Place sugar on top.\u00a0 Pack firmly.\u00a0 Layer with chocolate chips and M&amp;Ms.\u00a0 Place the brown sugar on top, again packing firmly. Cover with a lid.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span><span>Attach an index card with the following directions: <\/span>Empty contents of jar into a large bowl. In separate bowl combine 1\/4 cup plus <\/span><span>2 Tablespoons of butter, 1 egg and 1\/2 teaspoon vanilla. Beat until creamy. Add to dry mixture.\u00a0 <\/span><span>Drop by tablespoonful onto an ungreased cookie sheet, and bake in a preheated 375 degrees\u00a0 for 6 to 10 minutes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span><strong>NFF Tip:<\/strong>\u00a0 The best way I have found to keep the flour from getting all over your clean mason jar is to simply cut\u00a0a large tip into a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.joann.com\/joann\/catalog\/productdetail.jsp?CATID=cat3252&amp;PRODID=xprd388333&amp;cm_mmc=Google%20Base-_-Comparison%20Site-_-Web%20Site-_-Wilton%2012''%20Disposable%20Decorating%20Bags\">disposable decorating bag<\/a>\u00a0(a large plastic Ziploc would work as well), place\u00a0the\u00a0cut bag\u00a0into your mason jar and use it as a funnel for your dry ingredients.\u00a0 This keeps the sides of your jar crystal clean and will give you the clear layered look you want. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-9438\" href=\"https:\/\/www.loraleelewis.com\/blog\/?attachment_id=9438\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-9438\" title=\"lidNFFgirlfriendcookies\" src=\"https:\/\/www.loraleelewis.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/lidNFFgirlfriendcookies.jpg\" alt=\"lidNFFgirlfriendcookies\" width=\"264\" height=\"360\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.loraleelewis.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/lidNFFgirlfriendcookies.jpg 264w, https:\/\/www.loraleelewis.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/lidNFFgirlfriendcookies-220x300.jpg 220w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 264px) 100vw, 264px\" \/><\/a>Using festive napkins or fabric, add a little holiday cheer to your Christmas jars by screwing on a small square to the top of the jar. I used Martha Stewart Christmas napkins &#8211; I know&#8230; I know&#8230; nothing is too good for my girlfriends!
