I don’t know many people who haven’t been hurt in some way by the awful disease we all know as Cancer.\u00a0\u00a0 Loved ones lost, others given months…sometimes years…\u00a0of trying treatements leave each of us\u00a0wondering (and worrying)\u00a0when the finish line to these never-ending growths will be seen.\u00a0 Yet, we have hope.\u00a0 There is something in the human spirit that yearns for us to fight.\u00a0 So men and women everywhere fight back.\u00a0 Families fight arm and arm valiantly against the disease knowing that if one of them has it – they all have it.\u00a0 Cancer is more than a disease – it’s a journey.\u00a0 Most commonly accompanied with imaginary boxing gloves.\u00a0<\/p>\n

So in honor of those most courageous warriors (specifically those fighting Breast Cancer), we celebrate Pink October.<\/p>\n

Step One<\/strong> in Celebration is to say a prayer for those in the fight.<\/p>\n

Step Two<\/strong> is to examine yourself.\u00a0Conduct a Breast Self-Exam (BSE)<\/a>\u00a0 Find out how here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Step Three<\/strong> is to encourage friends to screen.<\/p>\n

AND…<\/p>\n

Step Four<\/strong> is to buy fabulous gear that you have always wanted and now have one more reason to justify.<\/p>\n

Here are some of my favorite items in regards to Step Four:<\/p>\n

5. Salvatore Ferragamo<\/a> has designed a limited collection of shoes and handbags\u00a0THAT I LOVE to raise funds for breast cancer groups called the Pink Collection. I wear a size eight shoe if anyone would like to purchase me these. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

6. Mike’s Hard Pink Lemonade<\/a>\u00a0– The company is giving a 250k donation to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation<\/a>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

7. Pink M&Ms <\/a>– Something we all love and we all can afford.\u00a0 50 cents per 8oz. bag goes to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

8. Mackage Hope Coat <\/a>– It’s just beautiful. $100 from the sale of each coat will benefit the Breast Cancer Research Foundation<\/a>. Available exclusively at Sak’s Fifth Avenue in New York City. Found via Marie Claire.<\/a><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

9. Teleflora Pink Blush Bouquet<\/a> – 10% of proceeds benefit the Breast Cancer Research Fund<\/a>. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
