I realize I’ve been featuring way too many salutes to red, white, and blue foods and our readers are probably wondering if this is now solely a food site instead of an “entertaining\/mommy\/lifestyle\/craft\/we-haven’t-really-decided-our-niche-yet\/recipe blog.” But no worries, tomorrow I’ll put the red, white and blue food to rest and focus on fun Fourth of July decor…but until then I just had to do one more – Red, White, and Blue Jell-O!<\/p>\n

If you haven’t had a Fourth of July Jello, you must be Swedish. Red, White and Blue Jello is as American as Dolly Parton and Bill Cosby. Am I right? I mean seriously, you have to have a patriotic Jello salad at the family barbecue. It’s just one of those things that makes you feel American. Here is a recipe and a bunch of photo inspiration! Break out your Jell-O boxes and get celebrating<\/p>\n

Red, White and Blue Jello Salad<\/strong> (recipe via Cooks.com<\/a>)
\n2 pkgs. red Jello (strawberry or raspberry)
\n2 c. boiling water
\n1 c. ice water
\n1 c. half and half
\n1 c. sugar
\n1 tsp. vanilla
\n1 env. unflavored gelatin, dissolved in 1\/2 c. cold water
\n1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
\n1 can blueberry pie filling<\/em><\/p>\n

RED LAYER: Dissolve 1 package Jello in 1 cup boiling water. Stir in 1 cup ice water, pour into glass, rectangle casserole dish. Chill until set.
\nWHITE LAYER: Heat Half and Half and sugar. Remove from heat; add vanilla and gelatin; beat in cream cheese. Cool, pour on top of red layer. Chill.
\nBLUE LAYER: Dissolve 1 package Jello in 1 cup boiling water. Add blueberry pie filling. Cool. Pour over white layer. Chill until set.<\/p>\n
