The excitement when you hear the news can only be expressed in uncontrollable jumping! Simply put, snow days are magical. It’s on days like these that Frosty really can come to life.

Keep the magic of snow alive on an afternoon off from school (or even just a wintry weekend), by creating a memorable snow celebration. We created a Frosty and Friends Party that is simple enough to hold during a warm-up break and magical enough to entertain a whole neighborhood of snow men.

Utilizing the Christmas 75% off clearance aisle at a local Walmart last night, we purchased a three pack of matching snowman wrapping paper, solid chocolate walruses, milk chocolate mittens, white chocolate snowflakes, white tinsel, penguin treat bags, powdered doughnut holes, and a coconut cake from the freezer section. (No Fuss Fabulous brag: Everything together was less than ten dollars. Eek! Oh yes, we all love a Christmas clearance.)

Use one roll of wrapping paper for your table cover. Snow angels don’t always eat like angels. Just say ‘no’ to fine linen on Snow Day. Save it for Easter Sunday.
Utilize the other coordinating papers to wrap your cups in using double stick tape.
Trim cups, plates, and anything you want with the white tinsel. Kids love it and we do too!
Set out extra mugs for your hot chocolate. We went ahead and placed our Walruses inside the mugs just because they seemed so cute bathing in chocolate.
Fill your favor bags with powdered doughnut holes. We used clear penguin sacks, but plain sacks would look just as winter-wonderful with the powdered doughnut “snowballs”.
Place the rest of your doughnut holes out on a plate with toothpicks and cake decorating items for your kids to make their own edible indoor snowmen!

While your snow angels are out freezing in the joy of ice forts, sledding, snowball fights, and snowmen – heat things up in the kitchen. Our picks for our party were steaming mugs of hot chocolate, big bowls of homemade soup, and fruits and veggies dipped in fondue. Of course, we didn’t want you to be slaving away in the kitchen all day! You deserve a Snow Day as well. And if you are anything like us, you want to be the type of mom that is taking that “off limits” sledding hill full speed with your tween trailing far behind. Neither Annie or I will ever forget when our grandma went down the big hill. Who knew Grandma had it in her? She was so cool. We want to be just like that…and you can’t do that while constantly worrying about the temperature of your fondue! So here are a few links to No Fuss Fabulous tested recipes that will keep you sitting on a sled and not standing in the kitchen.

Paula Deen’s Creamy Cheddar Soup
Giada’s Quick and Spicy Tomato Soup
Paula Deen’s Cream Macaroni and Cheese
Homemade Peppermint Hot Cocoa
Applesauce Chocolate Chip Bread
Easy Chocolate Fondue in a Crock Pot
Fiery Fondue (Cheese)
Semi-Homemade Scrumptious Carrot Cake and Cinnamon Cream Cheese Frosting

Keep the magic of snow alive on an afternoon off from school (or even just a wintry weekend), by creating a memorable snow celebration.
