You accept that they happened and that they are hers.\u00a0 You acknowledge they have made her who she is &#8211; beautiful,\u00a0 independent, strong and resilient.\u00a0\u00a0But at the same time, you mourn those years.\u00a0 You wish you could\u00a0have wiped every tear, picked her\u00a0up from every fall, and blessed her with all the love she deserved.\u00a0 You\u00a0grieve that you don&#8217;t know\u00a0the beginnings of her life as intimately as you know your\u00a0other childrens&#8217;.\u00a0 But you accept it.\u00a0\u00a0You accept what has happened\u00a0has happened. And then you say a prayer.\u00a0 A prayer you hope that you can keep.\u00a0 A prayer promising God that if there is any way, you will do all in your power to bring as much beauty to her life as possible.\u00a0 That you will cram as many\u00a0beautiful life\u00a0memories into hers that they will drowned out the bad.\u00a0 You dedicate yourself into finding out who she is, what makes her laugh, what she loves, why she cries, and how you will now fit into her beautiful world.\u00a0 Always remembering in this less than traditional road to motherhood, that she is yours and she is a gift.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.loraleelewis.com\/blog\/wp-admin\/www.loraleelewis.com\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-18518\" src=\"https:\/\/www.loraleelewis.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/LoraleeLewisPixieHollow1.jpg\" alt=\"LoraleeLewisPixieHollow1\" width=\"800\" height=\"1650\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.loraleelewis.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/LoraleeLewisPixieHollow1.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.loraleelewis.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/LoraleeLewisPixieHollow1-145x300.jpg 145w, https:\/\/www.loraleelewis.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/LoraleeLewisPixieHollow1-768x1584.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.loraleelewis.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/LoraleeLewisPixieHollow1-496x1024.jpg 496w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a>I purposely make all my children&#8217;s birthdays as beautiful as possible.\u00a0 I want them to have an enchanted childhood.\u00a0 I want them to enjoy being children.\u00a0 I don&#8217;t stress about their parties.\u00a0 I don&#8217;t take weeks planning them either.\u00a0 (I am running a company and a family of six after all!) Most of my children&#8217;s parties are planned just a week or two before.\u00a0But I do put care into each of them.\u00a0 I think about them and in most cases, plan them with each child. \u00a0Our Georgianna&#8217;s &#8220;first&#8221; birthday home from the DRC was especially important.\u00a0\u00a0 I wanted to douse her in nothing but pure magic.\u00a0 Some of her first words in English were &#8220;Tinkerbell Fairy.&#8221;\u00a0 She would recite from the Tinkerbell movie in her thick Congo accent at the time, <em>&#8220;Mommy, all you need is faith, trust, and Pixie Dust!&#8221;\u00a0 <\/em>I loved the theme &#8220;All you need is Faith, Trust, and Pixie Dust&#8221; because that is honestly what we needed to get our little Georgianna home.\u00a0<em>\u00a0<\/em>So the theme was set.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">For Georgianna&#8217;s &#8220;first&#8221; Birthday we invited her closest friends &#8211; one sister, three cousins, and two bffs &#8211; Seven Pixies total.\u00a0\u00a0 What was really special was that each of the little girls invited to the party are very close family friends and so all of them had prayed prior to G arriving home that she would come home safely and quickly.\u00a0 When she arrived in the US she already had a bushel of girlfriends!\u00a0\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.loraleelewis.com\/blog\/wp-admin\/www.loraleelewis.com\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-18521\" src=\"https:\/\/www.loraleelewis.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/LoraleeLewisPixieHollow2.jpg\" alt=\"LoraleeLewisPixieHollow2\" width=\"800\" height=\"1507\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.loraleelewis.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/LoraleeLewisPixieHollow2.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.loraleelewis.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/LoraleeLewisPixieHollow2-159x300.jpg 159w, https:\/\/www.loraleelewis.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/LoraleeLewisPixieHollow2-768x1447.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.loraleelewis.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/LoraleeLewisPixieHollow2-544x1024.jpg 544w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">I rented a 12 passenger van and drove the little pixies up the canyon to &#8220;Pixie Hollow&#8221;.\u00a0\u00a0 On the way, I told the girls they had to think &#8220;Happy Thoughts&#8221; to keep the vehicle &#8220;flying&#8221; to Neverland and Pixie Hollow.\u00a0 I giggled inside as the girls recited Happy thoughts like, &#8220;Pink kitties!&#8217; and &#8220;Rainbow Unicorns!&#8221; But nothing beat Amalie&#8217;s Happy Thought, &#8220;DIAMONDS!&#8221;\u00a0 Lainey echoed it saying, &#8220;YES!! The girls placed all their wands in the middle of the circle and danced around them while chanting a little &#8220;Pixie Chant&#8221; to make them magic! My special niece (shown here in the pink!), was upset that her wand wasn&#8217;t working &#8211; she couldn&#8217;t turn her cupcake into a frog! I put a burlap imprinted tablecloth on top. Each little girl had a mini log cupcake stand with a cupcake on their place setting and their named printed on a place setting banner so they would know where to sit! I used my mini mason jars and flower daisy cut lids with our Pixie Punch Straws and Pennants for drinks.
