Yesterday, Hostess with the Mostess<\/a> featured my Pirates of the Carribean party! You may (or more likely may not<\/em>) remember it from this past summer (you can find the original post with details here<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0the paper collection I created for event\u00a0Yo Ho Buccaneer Collection here<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Ladies, I am now going to give you a piece of advice.\u00a0 You know I have thrown a lot of parties.\u00a0 I’ve done a lot of themes\u00a0and had a lot of fun. \u00a0 Yet after throwing this event, I\u00a0think it should be mandatory for every boy in America to have a\u00a0pirate party.\u00a0 No questions asked.<\/em>\u00a0\u00a0 I don’t feel that way about any other theme so far.\u00a0 \u00a0I don’t know\u00a0what it is about Pirates…I think it has to do with the whole\u00a0pillaging and plundering deal…but something borderline magical happens when\u00a0boys (of all ages) get to pretend they are out at sea searching for buried treasure.\u00a0 At the risk of sounding cheesy, I\u00a0honestly do\u00a0my very best to bring something magical and special\u00a0to each event I style.\u00a0 That being said, the\u00a0below event was a breeze in that department.\u00a0 I did nothing.\u00a0 The party theme did it on it’s own.\u00a0\u00a0 Those little kids came in character and stayed in character.\u00a0 And one more thing, all the dads ended up staying at the party!\u00a0 \u00a0I’ve never seen that.\u00a0 Again, it’s the pirate deal.\u00a0 As the hostess mom, I said to the parents, “You can pick them up at five. ”\u00a0 The moms left.\u00a0 The dads stayed and played<\/em>.\u00a0\u00a0 I had a difficult time getting them to leave.\u00a0 I honestly have only had a handful of events where that\u00a0“little magic” \u00a0happened so effortlessly.\u00a0 So if you are trying to choose a theme for your\u00a0son’s upcoming party –\u00a0consider pirates.\u00a0\u00a0I don’t know what it is, but boys (of all ages) love it.<\/p>\n
