While Lee is in the shower, I&#8217;m on the treadmill, and Vienna is sleeping &#8211; Ethan will go into the kitchen, open the refrigerator and get an apple for himself. Because he is such a good kid, I don&#8217;t mind at all. Shoot! If he wants an apple before breakfast who am I to stop him? He likes Granny Smith apples and he likes the independence of getting himself one. Every morning, I find him sitting at the kitchen table enjoying his Granny Smith apple. I then proceed to pour him some orange juice, make him toast, and wait for Miss V to make her appearance. This is our routine. It hasn&#8217;t changed in months. <strong>Until today.<\/strong> Today, I found him sitting at the kitchen table with a large bag of marshmallows neatly displayed on a paper plate. I guess he needed a change. I told him I was weary of the nutritional consequences, but inspired by his fearlessness in taking chances.
